I'm using Twitter on my news blog as a Breaking News tool. I've got a plugin for Wordpress called MyTwitter which allows me to post breaking news items to the front page through a widget. This way I can post from the web or on my mobile.
lot's of sac area folks are on beenup2, not twitter...
